What People Are Saying About Trainer Jamie Walker:
As I was getting older I realized I had never fulfilled my "bucket-list" dream of learning to ride a horse correctly and the ultimate dream of someday working cattle. I asked my friend, Laura, if she knew anyone brave enough to take on a middle-aged woman who is sometimes afraid of her own shadow. She recommended Jamie Walker. I did my research and Jamie was a top trainer and I truly doubted she would want to take on my case. When I met Jamie at our first lesson, I noticed right away her talents with the horses, but I also recognized her talent with people. Jamie made me feel comfortable and we began weekly sessions which I referred to as my therapy. It's been almost 2 years now, and I have confidence, I am riding better every week, and Jamie continues to push me to be the rider I wanted to be all my life. I could never say enough about this incredible trainer who truly understands me. For the record, I've been working cattle—one less item on my "bucket-list!"

Our daughter has been riding with Jamie for almost five years, starting at the age of six. We have seen tremendous growth in her riding skills and confidence. Jamie’s patience and her pursuit of excellence has been the perfect combination. We are very grateful to Jamie for all of the time and energy she invests into our daughter. We couldn’t be happier.

Jamie is a wonderful teacher: positive, extremely patient, and very supportive. I very much appreciate her sense of humor and I always enjoy my lessons. She has a talent for observing a horse and rider, identifying exactly how to help them improve, and motivating them to progress. I owe Jamie a huge debt of gratitude because—as a result of her encouragement and assistance—I've returned to riding after a 30-year absence. Horses were my first love and having them back in my life is wonderful.
I feel very fortunate to be able to work with Jamie Walker. She has helped me improve my riding skills and my horse's abilities, too! She is a great trainer and a lot of fun.
Jamie Walker makes learning to ride fun and challenging.
As a 50 year old beginner, I was completely happy to ride around the arena forever—with blisters on my butt. But Jamie encouraged me to move way out of my comfort zone (she really gave me no choice).
In one year's time Jamie taught me about safety, grooming, purchasing the right horse and saddle, how to stop, do lead changes and work cattle—even to go show—all while having a complete blast.
Jamie gets what needs fixing with me and my horse. She pushes me to want to improve.
Working with Jamie and being at the barn with the "cast of Characters" is a slice of life that's pure enjoyment, brings welcoming challenges—a huge break from the stresses of life—and has greatly improved the quality of my life. And just one year later I am happy to report, with the help of Jamie, I am blister free and heading off to my third show!
